Caller: They did not say who they were and there were 2 men with accents (English wasn’t their first language) Called me 6 times in a row at 10pm on a Sunday night, despite rejecting the call 5 times. I finally answered on call 6. I have no idea what their scam objective was, other than to get me to confirm my phone number (which they clearly had??) and tell them my name, which I obviously wouldn’t do,
Man 1 had a muddled accent (It sounded like an Indian man poorly attempting to mimic an Australian accent)
Man 2 had a clear Indian accent, speaking English.
Me, answering on 6th call in 2 minutes: WHAT?!
(I hear rustling on the other end)
Me: I SAID, WHAT?!
Man 1: “Who is this?”
Me: Pardon?? You’re the one calling ME at 10pm on a Sunday night. Who the f*** are you?!
Man 1: Is this my phone?
Me: Huh??
Man 1: Do you have my phone?
Me: This is MY phone.
Man 1: I just called 04xx xxx xxx, right? (He recites my phone number)
Me: This is not your phone or your phone number.
Man 2 (suddenly starts talking with man 1): I dialled the right number, didn’t I? (Repeats my number again)
Man 1: Yeah, That’s MY phone number! (Repeats my number again) Who are you? Hey! You have my phone.
Me: … *silence*
Man 2: Hello?
Man 1: Why do you have my phone? Hello?
Me: Hangs up & blocks number
