Caller: Scam posing as Australia Post [SCAM] Received 01:54AM 16/APR/2024. Type: SMS scam message with link. Message content: AuPost:Package delivery is suspended and Post Shop service is unavailable. Click here for details: <link redacted, contains "aupost" to make it seem like it's auspost, and the word express>" Ask yourself: Are you really expecting a package? (I'm not). Note that it says "AuPost", which is incorrect -- Australia's postal service is AusPost, not AuPost. Note also the poor grammar ("Post Shop" capitalised in the middle if the sentence, no space after ":"). This is an 04/+61 number - No actual post service sends a message from a +61 number, and especially not at 2 in the morning, it would be done during business hours. Most importantly: Australia Post's real website has its own .com .au web-domain, not some sort of scam-bast 'express' link-tailer. VERDICT: Likely scam. Never click on URLs provided in text messages from unknown numbers, even if they may seem legitimate. Do not put your personal details into the website they provide. - antiscam anon xoxo.
