Caller: SCAM I received a very specific message for me to place my rubbish bins in a certain location tomorrow. Then a business name at the end which I have no affiliation with. I called the business (A Real Estate Agency), and informed them (as they are Australia wide), who said they would alert their IT professionals immediately. As this is not standard practice. ***SCAM LOGGED & REPORTED***

Caller: UPS While it does sound dodgy these UPS txts are not a scam. UPS are a registered brokerage company to receive and pass on customs duty payments. If you ignore the txt or reply requesting further info you will receive a call from UPS requesting you call the Australian UPS phone number 131877 to make payment of Australians customs duty owing. If in doubt call the number (which is listed on their Australian and USA websites) and request confirmation.
If you ignore payment you will eventually receive a letter from Australia Border Force requesting you complete a customs duty declaration form and then payment- a process that can take several weeks.

Caller: UPS Not a scam. UPS are a registered brokerage company for Australia Customs (Border Force). In spite of denying sending these type of txt's on the UPS website these txt's are from UPS. If you do nothing or reply to the txt requesting clarification a UPS rep from USA will call you back and request you call the Aussie UPS phone number (131877) to make payment of your Customs fees (Select option 4 during the call). A rep will clarify your tracking number and duty applicable (which you can find out prior by using the duty calculator on the Australian Borderforce website at: https://www.abf.gov.au/)
In short, Yes these txts are authentic but if in doubt call UPS in Australia.

Received a text message from this number after missing a call saying I had to deposit money into a BPAY account as I had import fees from my UPS package. The tracking number they provided was correct. 100% a scam as UPS do not have import fees.

Caller: UPS Got a missed call and went straight to voicemail. Also got a text stating I need to pay tax and etc. Same BSB and account as other mentioned. Quite odd as my shipping reference was exactly the same number as they said in the SMS. Clearly there is an insider in UPS leaking the tracking details or UPS logistic website is compromised.

Caller: 0447 100 266 Received text telling me a pathology bill was due today and provided link to Histopath Pathology phone number together with doctor name and date of procedure - both were correct but I hadn’t received an invoice. Called Histopath using number provided (from a different phone, did not click link) and they have no record. Lucky I never click links but I imagine older people will get caught out?!?

Caller: 0447 100 266 I got the same sms as well! i ordered something from Zazzle.com.au and it is coming from USA via UPS. When i got the sms i was very suspicious. The thing was, the sms had my valid tracking number that zazzle gave me. And i went onto zazzle, went to ups website myself and it did say "waiting for clearance information". Unless im getting scammed by Zazzle itself..... Ive risked it and emailed them just a photo of my invoice.. Lets see how it goes....

1st text message: At your earliest convenience, please call Latitude Financial Services on 1300 733 819 to discuss a personal matter regarding your Personal Loan. Thank You.
2nd text message (2 weeks later):- Your Personal Loan account with Latitude Financial Services is overdue. Please make immediate payment or call us on 1300 733 819 to discuss your account.
When I called the 1300 number it actually went to Latitude but there is no personal loan as I have not applied for one. The team member said it was a scam and not to give any personal info over the phone to anyone.
