Caller: A guy called Alan from The Shop of Tables I was given this number when I requested a phone number to check the legitimacy of a Marketplace/Facebook Ad for reconditioned Hampton-Style tables and chairs. I was cautious, suspecting it could be a scam. When I was emailed a professional-looking, Xero-generated invoice including a physical address, I figured it wasn't a scam and paid a 50% deposit via bank transfer the same day, Weeks later I came to realise that it was a scam after all, because when nothing had arrived and I went back to check the email with the link to the online invoice, it had mysteriously disappeared. Avoid this scam at all costs!
