Caller: Allegedly Telstra NBN Security Department

Allegedly Telstra NBN Security Department calling to advise my internet is going to be disconnected. Hang up or press 1. For fun I pressed 1 as my internet is not with Telstra. Indian sounding lady named Jenny advised someone is doing illegal things on my internet. Asked if I have checked my speed. Wanted me to open google browser. At this point I advised I had not been with Telstra for 3 years. Asked for her name and "D" number (internal employee number). No surprise, the phone went dead. THESE PEOPLE are scammers trying to get access to your computer. DO NOT OPEN any browser window and give them access to your computer or give them any personal information. If in doubt ask for their name, location, D number and advise you will call back. Call the Telstra phone number in the phone book or on your bill and ask for that specific person by name D number and location.
