Caller: SCAM- pretending to be from the NBN (National Broadband Network) Trying to scare me into believing that they will 'cut off' my NBN service, unless I press 1 to speak to an operator. [Even though I KNEW THIS WAS A SCAM] I pressed '1' to see what would happen...The call was picked up by a female person (with lots of background noise, other people, calls etc) who claimed to be from the NBN. I told them BULL***T you are! and hung up. NOTE: NBN is a body that has NOTHING to do with INDIVIDUAL connections, and does NOT make outgoing calls to people about their connections. ** If you are ever in ANY doubt at all, hang up on the call, and dial the legitimate number of your own Internet Service Provider (ISP) - e.g. Telstra, Exetel, Dodo...or whoever. ALWAYS talk direct with them, on a correct number that YOU have dialled. ;) ...I really wish there was a better way to stop these time-wasting calls coming through. :(
