Caller: Ebay Cancellation department Called to tell me of a gift card for $300 has been ordered in my name (indian accent), then asked me to bring up my IP address and whether it was on private or open. this was to show me how a hacker had accessed my ebay account to order the card. i was also asked if i wanted to cancel the order, i said yes, and they would assist me in doing so. when i stated that i am at work and not in front of my home computer, i was told that i could do this on my smart phone. i said that i would cancel the order when i get home. i was told that i would not be able to see the order that is why the needed to assist me in cancelling the order. when i asked them if they had already received the the money for the gift card, the line went silent and then a lady came on (also indian accent) then she hung up.
