Caller: Male caller

This call it showed simply as coming from Australia. When I answered the call there was a long period of silence, followed by a "plop" sound, then background noise which sounded like a call centre. A male voice with an Indian accent told me that he was from the security department of Visa and Mastercard and that a person (whose name I can't remember) had used my card overseas to make a transaction of around $900. I told him that it was all OK thanks and he immediately gave me the same message again and asked me if I wanted to have the transaction cancelled. I told him it was all OK again and thanked him and then hung up. This number shows as belonging to someone in the greater Sydney area, so it has most likely been hi-jacked by these scammers (who are most likely overseas). This sort of activity seems to happen all too frequently, it's such an old scam that I'd be surprised if they ever catch anyone out. Still, they keep on trying!
