He claimed to be Brian William, employee number 8669619253, from Ebay. He also claimed that I had ordered a $500 Ebay gift card at about 9 am Today.
He wanted to have the order confirmed and offered to guide me through the process if I sat in front of my computer. He knew my wife's surname, but not mine, and he knew our address in the format published in the phone book - that is, not including our unit number in the apartment block. So, considering that he was using the wrong surname and did not have a usable form of our address, I demanded he give me a number at Ebay that I could call to check and verify what he was telling me. At that point he hung up!!!
