A person claiming to be from Mastercard/Visa rang my home phone and stated that there was suspicious activity on my credit card. The caller sounded like a female and had a strong non-Australian accent. They knew both my name and address and asked me to confirm them. They stated that they had observed an unusual transaction online attempting to make a payment to a person in New Zealand from a location in Queensland. They asked me questions whether I had tried to make this payment and when I was last online. They suggested that I check my online account in the next 30 mins. When I asked them what I needed to do precisely they hung up on me.
