Caller: Scammer

Responded to my wanted add on gumtree with what I needed at a cheap price. Offered delivery if I transferred him $10 with balance paid on delivery. Then asked for $10 more. Googled number - he’s a scammer and does this to so many people. Blocks you after you transfer him money. Don’t believe him!

Wanted a $10 PayID then called me a idiot when I said don't worry about it.
It's a scammed.

On Gumtree, he asked me to transfer money for petrol to cover delivery via payID, about $15. When I replied that I would like to come to his address, pick up the items and pay on the spot, he then flipped the story saying that I still had to pay him money for petrol because he comes from another address, can’t afford to pay petrol and if I want I can pick him up on way there. The whole conversation was suspicious to me so I googled his number and bingo he's a scammer.

When he first sent me an SMS on an ad in which I wanted to buy wooden pallets on Gumtree, I suspected he might be a fraud. We talked and all he wanted from me was to pay him $15 through OSKO for petrol, but he offered the pallets for free which was immediately suspicious to me. The second time I reposted the ad, I saw that the mobile phone number was the same and his story was completely different. Location, number of pallets, etc. I pointed out that he was a scammer and then he started defending himself ‘how he struggles and it is not easy for him' and apparently 'he's not a scammer', he even offered to show me his licence, lol. I blocked him immediately.

Try’s scam you from gum tree add for delivery money and gets abusive when you decline.
Never pay a deposit or accept deposits.
Always pay on delivery.

Always wants a deposit to deliver something. Coy about giving you information over the phone. Abusive when you decline. Scammer

Contacted my partner directly on her mobile after posting an ad on Gumtree for a cleaner.
He milked her for $15 in total (deposit and "cleaning supplies") then tried me for petrol money. This got rejected by my bank due to fraud suspicion.
Messages no longer answered, phone now diverts to voicemail.
It looks like his bank account has been suspended already (according to the fraud department at my bank).
He also mentioned his partner "Jenny" so it seems he has a theme running.
