Caller claimed they were calling from the Anti-Fraud department of Visa and Mastercard.

Obviously as competing companies they don’t share an anti-fraud department.

The delay in speaking after you answer your phone is a dead giveaway that its a scam. The scammers are running thousands of numbers through an auto dial program and when you answer it sends that call either to a person or a recorded message. The delay you hear is the transfer of the call. Just hang up then.

After I said hello, there was a pause,, said hello again and still a silent pause then a mans voice started to talk (there were multiple voices in the background) but I couldn't understand any thing he was talking about. It was English spoken but very gibberish and he seemed hesitant to talk. I hung up..

The agent calling said there was suspicious activity on my Visa or Master card and directed me to download an app to my phone, which of course I did not do.
Instead I broke into laughter and told her this is the worst scam attempt in a long time, she then started giggling and hung up on me.
