Purporting to be from the 'Do not Call' Register, trying to verify that I have added my name to the DNCR... but then asked me to indicate how I pay my bills. Direct debit, credit card, or other... When I questioned the person (who had a very heavy asian accent) she indicated that she was not 'asking for any sensitive information' so it was still OK to talk to her. She insisted they were working hard to stop 'scam calls' to my number, and was adamant that she was a genuine caller. The call came through at 7:50pm.
I don't believe this was a genuine call, as I registered both my number and my wife's and son's at the same time, and the call only came through to me (on my phone).
When I first answered the call, it did not sound professional at all... there was a long pause and I could hear voices in the background, until she just said 'Hello?'
Not once did she say (or ask) my name. She sounded confused. I told her I believed this was a scam call in itself, and proceeded to hang up. I have blocked the number.
