Just had a missed call from this number - thankfully I checked the number before calling back and have blocked this number from my phone

A man with an Indian accent asking me to rate my suburb and my employment status then hung up.

Been getting about two calls a day, ...5992 but when I redialled it came up 02 5252 5252 but this is the first time using this number. Same disconnected number message though.

Had the same call tonight! Scam!!!! and will find them and hunt them down!

Male voice. Indian accent. Asked me to rate my suburb. Explained that I was at work and was unable to speak unless they paid me more. They thanked me for my time and hung up...

My wife just took a call from this number. the guy asked her to rate our suburb, then asked her what job she had - then when questioned he hung up. Can't ACMA find out from the Telco that issued this number, who this creep / dodgy org is and track them down?

I have just had a call on my land line from this number but since I didn't recognise the caller I didn't pick up. I checked my messages and they had left a message with a man's voice saying "hello" with some echo in the background. Then they hung up.
I rang the number back and it had an Optus recording saying that the number has been disconnected.
I am getting loads of calls from overseas and private numbers but I never pick up as I have had months of people ringing me to tell me that my computer is at risk blah blah blah. Even when I tell them to leave me alone they still persist.
My number is on the do not call register but it seems that counts for nothing.

I am having the same response. I asked the person how he got my number as it is protected and he hung up. Survey about suburbs, I am bit on my seventh call from thus number. Optus recording saying it is disconnected. I am going to block the number.

The person/organisation using this number has kept phoning me in mid-late evening each night for the past week. I leave it to go to messagebank, but they never leave a message.

Constant calling and when I try to phone back - it says it's disconnected

Got another call again today, this time is was a man, and just like Kevin posted he started saying something like "This is Julie calling from Australia Research..." (I even thought he said a woman's name) and asked me to rate my suburb. I just hung up.

I answered & a woman said "This is Julie calling from Australia Research..." as soon as I said do you realise this is a Do Not Call number she hung up!

I answer the number and after about 5 seconds there is a loud beep and a female voice saying "goodbye", then hang up.

I answered and this number they hung up after 15 seconds with a recording of goodbye
