Got a SMS purporting to be from the Commonwealth Bank recommending I Verify online banking detail and security questions. Have yet to confirm with CBA however fully expect this to be a hoax.

Received a SMS claiming to be from an Australian bank with a URL link to a "net banking web page" which was obvious it wasn't the banks web page by looking at the address of the web page URL (refused to click the link).

Received a message asking me to verify my banking details. Have blocked the number.

Text message "Commonwealth Account Update: Dear Customer, we strongly recommend you verify your Online Banking Details and reconfirm (PVQ) Personal Verification Question as appeared on our file. Click link below. ....." I am not a Commonwealth Bank customer. The bank confirmed they do not send out this sort of message.

This number is being used to send unsolicited phishing sms messages claiming to be from the Commonwealth Bank and containing a link to an infected website.
