Called pretending to Commbank- sounded legit as it was a automated voice that then transferred you through (claiming that were the banks security service and there had been a breach on my account) As soon as I was transferred it was sus, the man (with a accent) sounded shocked (this was the first give away) he said there had been an attempted Bitcon transfers but they had stopped it and wanted to confirm that it wasn’t me. I said yes I hadn’t (obviously) then started talking about my internet banking account - this was when I knew it was a scam because I don’t have any internet banking access on Commbank accounts, but I was feeling cheeky and decided to play along. Eventually after he mumbled through (he really wasn’t convincing) I asked him to tell me what my name was - he told me he knew my name, I said what is it because I don’t have any internet banking set up in my account , so what is my name, what’s the name of my accounts, how many do I have l, what the number (all the information he wanted from me I suspect) his answer was I don’t need to tell you your name, to which my reply was - I know my name but I bet you don’t and he hung up!
