Suspect scammer. Said they are from amazon and have detected a purchase for over $1000 on my account. For an iPhone. In California. Felt concern as he had my name and address. Said I couldn't check anything right now, asked them to call back in a few minutes. During the time I have checked the number, hence this post.

Optus advises this number is incorrect or incomplete

Said they were calling from RAC insurance company and that someone gave them my number as they hit my car recently. (Didn’t happen)

Indian call centre operator calling himself John, from some garbled company which he refused to repeat. Apparently my internet service has been hacked. It will be by the time he’s finished.

Tried to advise of an unauthorised transaction on credit card. I called the bank and they confirmed no such transaction existed. Scammers!

Caller: Energy meter scam

Energy meter scam. Thick accent, had access to my name. Wanted to know if I’d had my free energy meter installed yet. Third call of this type this week.
