Caller: Fake Amazon Prime auto-renewal May 4 Tue 3:12 pm Sydney. I received their call at 3:11 pm, which I did not answer. Less than just one minute later they leave me a voice mail. Their voice mail to me is an automatic recording of a digital voice: "...is to inform you that your Amazon Prime account will be auto-renewed for $39.99 from your bank account, so enjoy using Amazon Prime services, or if you want to discontinue or unsubscribe the services then speak to a Amazon service manager, by pressing 1." But that option to press "1" only works if I call them.
I do not have an Amazon Prime subscription. I do have an Amazon Australia account.
I have been getting a lot of scam calls since I got this new phone number in about March 2021. That is with Amaysim, is it common to get scam calls with Amaysim? I also have gotten at least about 3 calls from different people who seem genuine callers, I ring them back with my silent number, and they answer, seemingly innocently. I should ring them and ask who they are or what they want to talk about.
Do you want to call them and then press '1'? Or is that unsafe? PS:I rung them: "The person you have called is not available, please leave a short ten second message after the tone, and we'll send the message as a text...your voice message is being converted to text, it will be sent as an SMS, thanks for using Telstra's 'message to text' service.
