Weirdly, got a random message from this number wishing me a happy birthday... on my birthday... I have never heard of them.

Got a text message from Luxe Salon. Never been there. Obviously a scam

Got message 'IPL PHOTOREJUVENATION + FREE HAIR REMOVAL APPTS AVAILABLE WED 2nd JUNE NOW! Call 92277300 (ext1)'

Suspect it's spam - even if it's a legitimate business, it's unsolicited.

Got a message from this number with just my name typed twice. Definitely still scammers not from my hairdresser and I live in QLD.

Message read:
"Hi, @ Amicus&Co we are now taking a Booking Fee for All Services when making your next appointment. Thankyou for you understanding :)"
No idea who these twits are. Blocked the number.

Received a text saying to confirm my appointment at Too Cool for School for Sun 24 Jan 11.00am Text Y to confirm or phone 9912 3456 to reschedule. Thanks. This message came at 1.30pm after the actual time on the 24th. I called 9912 3456 nnd it was somebody's voicemail.

also got a text message with just my name from this number. After seeing all the comments I definitely won't respond!

This is a valid ph number now.

just was a message bubble with nothing in it that came to my messages on my phone. I have blocked the number.

This number is from an automated system used by a number of retailers (especially beauty and hair salons) in order to SMS their clients reminders automatically about their appointments and other types of communications.

I suspect messages that only contain one’s name are a user error on the part of the retailer in regards to how they have configured their system.
