James Port Headland Scam
Posted on April 21, 2016 Caller type: Unknown Location: Australia
James Hill is now trying to sell a Jayco 2010 Outback Caravan for $15000, which is 1/2 the current market value.
Hi James,
As I was saying, I have payed all expenses (shipping, insurance) and the caravan will be delivered to your address for a 5 day trial period. It is stored in Port Hedland, WA with a shipping company. They will also handle the payment as they offer protection for both buyer and seller. To proceed with the shipping you must deposit the funds under your name with the shipping guys so they will know your money are secured until you'll receive and inspect the caravan, it's safe and simple. I'm confident the Jayco will pass all your tests but if by any chance you are not satisfied, you'll get refunded in full and they will have the caravan picked up at my own expense. So you will safely inspect the Jayco before committing to buy it.
Call them for more info but hurry up as two other clients are interested. First come, first served.
Here are the details so you can make a background check on the Jayco. VIN: 6AM000000A1M70251 Reg Plate: 520QRN / 09-03-2017
Regards, James

This FAKE James hill advertised a Jayco Sterling registration number 520 QRN for sale for $15 000 with the mobile number 0438 354 195. Called the number and it went to voice mail. after a few days I get a text with a link to a website to view the pictures. By the way this same caravan is also advertised for sale in NSW.
I was advised by e-mail that the caravan was in WA and will be shipped to me once the money Is transferred. Oldest con trick in the book. Does he think people have been born under a rock.
I told him to get lost as I do not deal with crooks.
Do not buy something that that you cannot inspect in person. The PPSR check showed nothing owing and registration paid until 2017, but this still is not enough security to base your decision on.

Thanks for sharing the information. He has another one running. An Off Road Caravan - 2012 Goulburn Elite advertised on gumtree, normally selling for about $65000, he is giving away for $18500. Just awaiting the pictures. Mobile number used to send the SMS was 0438 354 195. Be warned and I hope the Police are able to catch the offender.

Selling a BMW, which seems abit dodgy. Says he's out of the country, but can send us pictures. Also says to email him at hillmpx(at)bigpond.com. Seems to good to be true. Don't know for sure, but sure does seem abit scammy! Wouldn't believe it till I saw it!

Yep, I got the same message from this number in response to the Daily Telegraph X5 ad. SCAM through and through. You can usually pick that they're not from around these parts from the language in the text but this one's pretty good. Even offered to send photos and arrange an inspection. I'm tempted to go along with the bastard to see how they play it out. No doubt the inspection falls through for some reason.

Definitely a scammer and very transparent. The landline he lists in the Manly Daily advert (6th June) is a tracker, to which he responds to your mobile phone enquiry by text approximately 2 weeks later, asking for you to send an e-mail to hillmpx(at)bigpond.com for further details. I then got a second text immediately (obviously his automation process is flawed as the texts are too close together) stating he can send pics and details on how to inspect and buy as he is out of the country at the moment. I will be pursuing, as this scumbag needs catching and deserves to be locked away.
