My phone provider automatically notifies as spam and blocks suspicious numbers. I've had this number come up several times in months past. I often will call back the spam numbers to learn that it's an individual or business whose number has been hacked and I tell those people to contact their phone provider. Even my own phone number has been hacked on several occassions when I've had a return call from someone I've never heard of and located in other states where I do not need to call and they've said they were returning my call. Everyone can be a victim to these scammers/hackers.

Becoming cautious

Caller: He avoided to identify himself

Aussie guy asked for me by name, because I didn't know the voice I said (name) could be one of the boys over at the Police BBQ but none of them own this phone. He lost interest & said goodbye. After reading other posts, I think I may have dodged a bullet.

Called me this afternoon and surprisingly knew my first name. When he asked if this is (my name) I said yes and he just hung up. Like seriously he was so damn rude and when I called back to give him a piece of my mind, an auto teller machine was on. My block list is looking awesome from all these scammers.

Has called multiple times and no one ever on the other end. Tonight was the first time I heard a voice back. An English lady asked if this was "name" and I said yes. She then hung up. Not sure who's training these idiots but this is not the way you cold call.

Caller: RSL Art Union

RSL Art Union is definitely a legitimate charity but look to be using a call-centre type team (hence calls for other companies from the same number) to contact anyone who has bought a ticket previously, registered with them at some stage or possibly from some purchased list.
It's not SPAM, they're a legitimate charity helping veterans, just can be annoying with the phone calls.
PS: Bit of a quick Google search would have assisted with the false accusations of "fraud" above.

answered said they were from RSL union - started asking questions about me whether I was working or not said I was and then he preceded to ask who I worked for to which I did not answer, I just asked what is this about? He continued with asking if I had heard about the RSL union and if I knew anyone who had served........I then said I can't afford that right now and he just hung up on me - definitely a scam!!

I called back and the number is spoofed. That tells us just what it is. It’s an obvious sham.

Has called me five days in a town always very early in the morning, waking me up everytime. They never say anything when I answer, stay on the line for a second then they hang up. I've stopped answering as my phone keeps flagging the number as spam. But in reading some of the other comments it makes sense that the people calling are running with a scam from the "RSL Art Union Lottery. Which they called me years ago to set up an account with them to do an ongoing direct debit in exchange for a ticket to their monthly lottery. The lottery seemed legitimate as I receive monthly pamphlets with very real looking information and pictures about the lottery, including an expensive house on the Gold coast etc. Always believed I was donating to a worthy cause, being the RSL but now I will be blocking the payment at the bank as I now believe it to be a fraud.
