Caller: Scam

Claimed to be commonwealth bank about a $500 payment to the USA. When I asked which card had been used she told me she would loose her job if she told me. I asked what name she had down for me and she hung up.

Caller: They said from CBA

Definitely trying to scam. Caller said they noticed potential fraudulent transaction of $800 to an American company. As I did not transfer any money, it got me worried for a bit and told them I did not. They said they will arrange the money to be returned and asked me to note down their name and employee id. This raised suspicion, also sound quality was very poor and accent sounded made up hence I asked them who they have called, they hanged up immediately.

Caller with strong accent claimed to be calling from Commonwealth Bank security phishing for details as they stated $500 was attempted to be transferred from my account to the USA this morning. When prompted he stated the correct public line for CBA but then when I asked what account name he was enquiring on he went back to the beginning and said my phone was linked to an account in question. I again asked him if he knew my name which he couldn't answer. I finally said I don't have an account with CBA and he immediately hung up. Definitely a scam call.
