Caller: Supposedly commonwealth bank Heavily accented caller with noises of call-centre in the background purported to be the commonwealth bank, saying they were reporting a potentially fraudulent transaction. Was I trying to make a $800 payment in America? I said “no, so does that make you the fraud?” She laughed, said something incomprehensible, then hung up on me. I have been in a real-life situation like this before, and the bank always texts first. And I’m sure they wouldn’t have hung up so abruptly.
