Caller: Claim to be from Visa and Mastercard authorisations Claims to be calling from Visa and Mastercard. Says that there is an overseas transaction that someone was trying to make on my card and wanted to verify my account. Absolute scam - firstly, Mastercard and Visa are two separate companies. Secondly, the call is coming from a mobile number, and lastly, I know for a fact that my bank does not call to question the validity of charges, having been the target of card hacking earlier this year.
