Caller: supposedly Amazon A recorded message said someone had authorised $800 payment for an iPhone 11. I was then put through to a person who said they were from Amazon and asking if I had ordered an iPhone 11. When I said that I hadn't ordered the phone he said he would transfer me to their security department to authorise the cancellation. Although the background noise sounded like a call centre I was suspicious of the caller.
I said I would ring him back rather than him putting me through. He was insistant that he put me through. I insisted that he give me a number to ring and an ID number for the call. He gave me the number 61 756 412 405 and an order number TB38541254CD. It sounded like he was just picking numbers at random.
