Another scam on Gumtree and Whatsapp

Contacted me via WhatsApp - same profile as already mentioned, same attempted scam. I had advertised an item for sale on Gumtree. Seems like the only response one gets from Gumtree adds nowadays are from scammers in my case every single contact in connection with my item for sale was a scammer!

Same thing happened to me!!! Amanda message me on Whatsapp. The profile picture was of a young mum worth her 2 young kids, which just made it look more believable!!
Lucky I realised it was a scam and and blocked and reported her!!!
I almost fell for this!!

Wanted to buy some good I was selling on Gumtree, where she requested a Post Office payment to me, and was getting a courier to pick it up.
As I had done a few past transactions, similar to this, it didn’t worry me, but a day later found out some money had been taken out of my account to an Art Pavlos, in Russian Rubles.
Pavlos was an artist/ sculptor, and I got in touch with several art galleries here in Australia and overseas where his work has been sold. No luck though. Reported it to police and My bank, and ongoing investigations. Don’t think I’ll get my money back though.

Fortunately I researched this number and found earlier scam comments - third scam message on What’s App from different numbers in response to a Gumtree ad!

very good 'buyer'. She made the transaction so easy. Thank God my instinct told me to hold back with the sales. She sent me a link that payment and postage has been paid. Too easy to make this deal look valid. Beware of her!

Wondering why I got a message from this number via Whatsapp and asked for offer on Gumtree post. Luckily I checked this number and found it was a scammer. Blocked!

Big time scammer, don’t waste anymore of your time. Name was “Amanda Cooper” for my scam, gave a Rockhampton postal address, wanted me to fill out my credit card details in order to get money from Aus Post. Make sure to report them on WhatsApp so their number will be blocked from the service, whatsapp will read the last 5 messages sent to determine if they deserve to be blocked so make sure to call them out. The response I got from “Amanda” was colourful and incredibly implicating for her. Hopefully being blocked will make it harder for them.

Glad I looked up this number. Was selling something on gumtree and the person said, via Whatsapp, that they were in Rockhampton and that Australia post that can pick the item up and deliver to them.

Texting on WhatsApp about an item advertised on gumtree, asked for AusPost delivery to Rockhampton.

Thank god I looked up this number. Was selling something on gumtree and the person said that they had friends in Australia post that can pick the item up and deliver to Rockhampton from Melbourne.
