Called and said that he is from the "Federal Police.....welfare program" & is "...lookin for sponsorship to help educate the kids about drugs and stuff"!

Just got a call asking me to donate to neighbourhood watch. When he told me the packages were either $400 or $650 I asked him where he got my number from. He couldn't tell me so I told him I wasn't interested

Same here they tried the same thing two days in a row with me!

Had a call from this number, most certainly a scam as any state or federal police department WILL NOT call you from a mobile number!

got a call from this number - true caller identified it as police journal. I called the number back and it was disconnected??

Called me hung up after I answered

Didn't answer but my truecaller app said "Police Journal". Hmmmmm

Yup had a call today. No message left. They wouldn't want to call back.

I got a phone call from this number, apparently calling from the AFP in regards to getting my business into a newsletter in september, He was asking for a $330 donation

Just got my second call today - didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message. When I looked up the number I got to this thread. Got a call from these scammers ('police newsletter') yesterday! Beware.

Same story here: "i got a call from this number today, asking to promote my business in a police news letter for my local area. and it would cost $480" scam alert!!!

His version to me was advertising in the "official" (not) Journal of the Police Association Victoria. Scam.

These people call me at least once a day, sometimes twice, so I have blocked the number and it goes straight to voicemail - they never leave a message. It is a SCAM. They are trying to make you pay and/or buy advertising for obscure magazines. Answer it and let them know you are aware they are low-life scammers and they should piss off.

Just tried a neighbourhood watch scam said he was working in conjunction with the police. Police know nothing about it.

Also called me with the federal police story. Not sure if it is a scam or not, I asked them to email all there details
