Only rang a couple of rings. Called back - says number is disconnected

Normally, I wait for unknown numbers to ring out and then I google and block them. I got the typical few seconds of silence before the caller started to speak. When I heard the magic word "electricity", I told the caller I wasn't interested and she said she wasn't selling anything. I advised I was hanging up and did so. I thought I blocked the number but the caller rang a few hours later and I cancelled the call, and then she rang two more times straightaway and I continued to cancel the call. I reblocked the number.

Strong Indian accent, lot of background noise. I heard something about Government and $4000 rebate, but first she needed to verify my details. Was I the homeowner? No. Okay, so is your husband the homeowner? She hung up the second I said I rented. I'm not even married so that was rude.

I answered to a female with a heavy accent, I could not understand her, she hung up on me

I answered the call, no-one spoke, but I heard voices in the background, it sounded like a call centre? I called back, it rang once, then the call was disconnected by them. 😠

Received a call from this number and they hung up straight away. Have blocked it after seeing all the comments.

Caller: It was a young child sounded like reading from notes and sounded nervous

The call was pretending to be a Government official but I just hung up.
I am very concerned that these scammers are now using children that sound scared
Makes you wonder if they are forced into this with threats. Very sad

Optus has advised this number has been disconnected! Fair to say agree with previous comments. Says a lot about Australia's Telecommunications Systems when the scammers can appear to use Australian numbers from overseas to dupe us into thinking they are from Australia!!!! WTAF!!!!!

A call from (03) 9957 9478 came through and hung up on answering. 15 minutes later 0411 083 918 called, with delay on answering with call centre noise in background and a man with Indian accent asked for me by name.
Identified them selves as Global Services and claimed they were calling with respect to the government solar rebate program. I hung up and blocked the number.

A woman trying to arrange an appointment for someone to come to my house to check if I could get solar panels. She said their consultants were in my area. She knew my name and number, so I asked where she got my information. She said “Australian Data Services”. Then she asked ME what my address was. When I wouldn’t tell her she started yelling at me and telling me I would never get the rebate I’m entitled to! Have had 2 further missed calls from the same number and have blocked it.

They asked me if this was "x" (my name). I stupidly said yes.
They said they were from global services and I said I couldn't talk. Then they hung up. I tried calling back but got the optus disconnected message. Hope they don't use the call to commit fraud.

I had a missed call from this number 0411 083 918. When I called back, the message said this number has been disconnected. Anyway, It is a scam for sure. I just blocked it off.
