Caller: Scammers Txt received to my mobile. “LlNKT-DUE: You have an outstanding toll bill, according to our system data. To avoid the upcoming penalty notice, make your payment today. [link removed]”
Do NOT click on the click included in the text!! This is a scam as reported on scamwatch.gov.au(probably to obtain ID information or credit card information). The premised of ‘unpaid tolls’ is false; there are no tolls in the state where I live but I have travelled to states where tolls applied. After travelling to these states and hiring a vehicle - whereby I provided my mobile phone number - I started receiving these scam txt messages (despite the vehicle hire company paying all dues).
