they said they were ringing up on behalf of the NBN, this was a SCAM call trying to get remote access my PC

A suspected scammer supposedly from Telstra, asking me to check my internet connection because it is having some problems. Someone would come and replace it with a newer model. Sounded very convincing and wanted me to turn on my computer. I told him I couldn't (=wouldn't). I asked him for his Telstra ID so I could check it. He gave me a number, but while I was looking for a pen he hung up. It so happens I am not with Telstra anyway so it was suspicious. He needs to update his data!!!
