I received a suspicious sms from this number asking about a vehicle I had listed on Gumtree. I typed the email into Google and web pages came up with similar scams which included the same SMS I received.

Absolutely a scammer ! tells you via email he's buying yr car off gumtree for his son blaa blaa blaa and needs all your bank account or paypal details. Top bloke probably living in Africa ready to drain yr bank account when possible. He has poor grasp of the English language and doesn't answer any of yr questions if you decide to chat with him further. String him along with fake bank acc details and false paypal accounts its so much fun ! !

Same deal. I have a car for sale on Gumtree and this number txt messaged me and provided me with his “partners” e- mail who is apparently interested in purchasing my vehicle. I’m supposed to e-mail his partner Falz. falzdavido @ gmail.com When I tried calling the mobile no. it states the no. is disconnected. Full scam!

I received a suspicious sms from this number asking about a vehicle I had listed on Gumtree. It alerted me that they were asking me to send the price by email to helenascleni @ gmail.com. I replied by text saying they were welcome to inspect the car on the weekend and discuss price then. I received new sms saying, email replies only to a different email gavinwilliams212 @ gmail.com. This is when I realised it's a scam. I hope no one falls for it.

Also be wary of a Shane Albert. You'd think they'd get their stories straight as I also got a similar email from Kim Bentley. Pricks!!!
