Caller: Credit Corp Credit Corp continually chase you for supposedly unpaid debts that they have purchased from a finance company for as little as 4c in every debt dollar you supposedly owe. So for a $1000 debt they have purchased for as little as $40. Never ever ring them back as your credit 7 year blacklist will start again. Your debt gets wiped after 7 years if you don't make any contact with them. Block their number but they will continually ring you on other phone numbers that they have a rotation of hundreds of landlines & mobile phone numbers they use. Rule of thumb is never answer any phone calls from people you don't know if they aren't in your address book.

Caller: I don't know Blocked at point of call by telco. Must be a flagged no. Never answer calls from unknown numbers particularly when they do not leave a message. Anyone legit will leave a msg. Don't care if you are a small business owner and think its a booking you might miss. No way. Let them leave a msg. If you call back (don't, no msg no call back) and they ask you to ID yourself, you are a fool to give your info to a stranger let alone one that wont ID themselves.
Assume caller realised they dialled phoned wrong number and hung up. Oh well. If it is important they would state their name, business and reason for calling back. Some major telcos as at 2026 now automatically block VoiP numbers including those using robodial. Good. So they should. Unsolicited calls using many voip masked as regional and mobile numbers, DO NOT answer. Scammers on phones is wild these days. Watch a doco or 2 about this. biggest crime now, by far, too easy for them. How fast and easy they get control of your devices, before you even get rid of them theyve got you, then sky is the limit. If my telco blocks number, thats good enough for me

If it is a collection agency they won't leave any details because it's against the law (thank the privacy act). If they call asking about someone else, it's because that person gave your details as a contact to the creditor.
'Course, it could be scammers. Who knows?
