They use whatsapp so gumtree can't track them and their scam
This is a scammer, who tries to get people to send items through the mail which they'd pay for. They likely would cancel the credit transfer before you get it or pretend they've sent it through, and then they'd have your item and you won't get any money. Don't trust this person. Take your number off gumtree and talk with people only through gumtree messenger, so you can hold them to account if they scam you.

Gumtree scammer - avoid

Same for me tonight. Inquiring about Gumtree add but anonymously through whatsapp and sent a link for supposedly an Auspost courier service. I never press links for this reason.
