this phone call me a few times. but when i pick up they hand up. so ironing

Came up on my phone as a missed call. Received a text message from the number saying “You missed a call, but the caller didn't leave a message.” Tried to call back but it would not connect (bad move on my part?). Possibly some sort of robocall or number spoofing.
