yes. They're attempted scammers. Seeming to be fishing for information on you by not revealing who they are and pretending to be someone from long ago - miffed that you don't remember them..

Eric,

Are you able to give any details about the "scam"?

I've had short non descript text messages from this number, asking for photos, claiming to be a woman from my past (but she wouldn't identify herself) and took mock? offence at me not remembering her - yet she wouldn't identify herself. She even rang me (nice voice) - same spiel..
