Scam - was called about a 30% Optus discount on my next bill. I changed phone carrier 5 days ago, so when they start telling me about all the extras they can offer me, but I am no longer with Optus, then I know it’s a scam!

its nothing to do with optus ,its all about getting your DOB, that helps them rob your bank account.

claiming to be from optus asking for my date of birth !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's all they need to access your Bank A/C because they already have your Name and address - could be from an old phone book or any where .
NEVER give your Date Of Birth out over the phone. or any other info

Same experience as above, Optus 40% discount due to COVID (which makes no sense), asked me for date of birth so they can send a verification. I refused, but she sent ne the verification code anyway, which looks like it was written by a 6 year old. I further refused, and she hung up

Apparently 30% Discount, tries to grab all your personal details, all bullsh*t. Rang optus directly afterwards and there is NO 30% covid discount.

40% Optus discount due to covid, wanted my date of birth only.

Offering 30% discount. Asks for date of birth, then they send a message that appears to be from Optus and ask you to tell them the Optus Pin in the message. There is also a 1800 231 262 number they ask you to call, but on checking this is an Optus tech support number Optus uses for porting your number. Ask them that if they are from Optus what is your "Pin number", you can have Optus create a special Pin that must be used to make any changes to your account.
