Caller: They said Optus

Wanted my date of birth so they could activate a 40% discount on my mobile phone due to Covid.

Caller: Optus - she said!

Only got so far as saying something about a discount because of Covid - then they hung up when I questioned further.

Caller: It is a scam

I just received a call from this number asking for my date of birth for a 50% discount on phone bill from Optus. I hung up because it sounded sus. I called Optus to ask about it and they confirmed it is a scam and do block the number. Hope this helps.

Called today saying optus wanted to give me 40% off they just wanted my dob. I said I'm not giving my dob and hung up!

THIS IS A SCAM. Claimed to be from Telstra Billing Department offering me a 30% discount. I contacted Telstra and they confirmed it is a scam. THIS IS AN IDENTITY THEFT NUMBER. I have reported to Scamwatch and the police. DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFORMATION AWAY.

same as above, offered 30% discount, I stupidly gave my DOB at the start as they sounded like an optus call, but when she told me my address and it was wrong and asked for my license number I felt it wasnt right so I told her she had the wrong address and i dont have a license.
