CDPP representing ATO - House under surveillance, potential legal action etc.

I have reported this scam number to scamwatch and they said that they try to get a payment from you to get the legal proceedings to stop. always look in to it before ignoring it and don't pay any money! (and report it).

My 95 year old mother has now received several calls from this number, intend to report this however its likely nothing will be done!

yep, cdpp/ ato scam, if they ring you but don't know your name, it is pretty obvious

got same message on answer machine. Called the cdpp (their real phone number) and was told this has been reported to the Feds. Big scam.

This needs to be reported to the police. I believe it counts as 'demanding money with menaces' and is a crime.

Same as above. One more reason to get rid of my home phone

Same deal with me. Knew it was dodgy but thought I'd check the phone no. and no surprise all this came up. Might ring him back and have some fun

Received a message on my recently deceased mother's phone to say pretty much the same as the others mentioned - warant for arrest, house under surveilance. Pretty stressful considering the circumstances.
Going to report it to the ATO - I advise others to do the same

My 84 year old blind uncle had this call and you can imagine how upsetting it was. We tried to ring back but the number was dropped out. Mum tried and an indian guy answered the phone and hung up on her. Who do we report this to?

Same message received today. Scared the crap out of me. ATO, house under surveillance, legal action will commence, registered mail returned etc etc.
Called back and was hung up on. Then I called back again and asked to speak to a supervisor. Got told no supervisors within the ATO. then asked for a manager and he said he was the highest authority. Asked for his name, Ricky someone, then asked how to spell it and he hung up on me.

Looks like I'm not the only one!

I have just had a phone call the same, got very upset and they said the same ATO house under surveillance , etc

Received the samee call and decided to check..seems like I am not the only one to receive this scam call. Thanks to all for the info.

I had the same call 3 times in one hour, called back 10 days later and they hung up halfway through the call so i rang back and he did not give me any details about it but he said someone came to my house with paperwork and i was not home so legal proceedings were going to start so they wanted my lawyers name, I said i haven't got one so they hung up on me.( Indian accent if that's got anything to do with it.) Scam i say!

Same message received this morning. No name given for who was being addressed and advised to ring the number and there are four in the house who could possibly have a forgotten debt. Suggests a phishing scam. Unscrupulous and mean this could really upset someone who was more credulous.

Had this number twice yesterday! First time I hung up on the second they left a message. Same as Derek. The guy says he's Sargent Sam Watson, can hardly understand him. Idiot scamers wasting our time!
