I just took a call from this number - said they were from Optus and wanted to keep me as a customer. Said my current contract is due to expire end of August (no it doesn't, it's mid-June) and they said I was currently using a Nokia phone which was what I was set up with 2 years ago (not it wasn't, I got a Samsung Galaxy). Offererd another 2 years with bells and whistles plus a free Iphone 4, as long as I signed or another 2 years. Isaid i will think about it and to call me back in 2 days.

I picked up a call from them just over a year ago, asking me if I want to upgrade my mobile phone services with Optus. I said politely, no thanks (I knew it wasn't real because they didn't address me by my name- which they should have with the account details). They were a bit pushy about it, so I just had to hang up. I saved that number in my phone, luckily, because a month later, they called again, no joke, and have been doing so about 2-4 times a week since. I rang the proper number for Optus and asked about it, and they don't know what's going on. ......

I got calls from this number - advised they were calling on behalf of optus and offered me a new phone for signing up for another 2 years. I agreed and I received my new phone within a week. I assumed it was a scam but it seems I got lucky this time.

Had a missed call today. Thanks to this site I just typed in the number, read all the above and also put the number in my phone as a scam call. They also rang me about 24mths ago and I thought they were Optus, again I waited 3 weeks and rang Optus, they knew nothing about my new phone. Luckily for me I was just off contract, and got a new phone through the real Optus. They must know time is up for me again. Sorry to all my friends but if you arent in my phone you arent getting answered. :(

They have called me twice over the past few days, say to call them about an over due acc with optus but I don't have an overdue acc, they left a VM saying to call immediately to discuss this and also about an uograde. Riiiiight.

I just got a call from this number. Didn't hear it ringing so it's a missed call. Reading this, I think I'm not (never ever) going to answer. Have put this number in my address book with "scam" as name. I hate these kind of calls ... if I want to have or buy something, I'll go to the shop.

Some telemarketing losers trying to peddle their goods to unsuspecting australians seem to be a optus reseller do not trust anything they say.

Have been called by this number and a couple of others as well recently (02) 8219 7909 and (02) 8219 7947). Have answered twice and told them i'm happy with my current service and not interested and then hang up on them. But still they call...If i get contacted again all manners will go out the window...If i wasn't expecting an important call i would turn my phone of!!

Got a call for this number today to upgrade my phone from a lady calling on behalf of optus. without thinking I did, as they said it was a one time offer and I could not get it offered later. Then I missed two calls from them and worried that something was wrong I called back to get an automated message from Oceania marketing or whatever. I immediately flipped out, worried about a scam and checking this page only scared me more. I called Optus ten minutes later and they assured me it is legitimate, they could see the record on my file that I have upgraded and they are affiliated. I shall breathe easier when my phone arrives, and shall let you all know if and when that occurs.
