Just wanting to know if I need my tax done.

Claimed to be from H&R Block and knew some of my information but sounded very strange. Tried to get me to make an appointment when I don't usually do this for another 3 months. When I said I wasn't interested, she became pushy, insisting on ringing back in a month. Instead of paying these people, why not employ much needed receptionists to respond to client's needs when they ring in. Nuisance call or even a scam. If this is H&R Block, I'd be LESS likely to use them again.

Claims to be from H&R Block. Knew my branch & tax agents name but the voice sounded odd and disturbing. Was pushy - when I said I would make my own appointment later in the year, offered to ring me again in a month ! I don't usually do my tax return until April. Would prefer not to receive these calls. It would be much better for H&R Block to employ receptionists to respond when customers initiate contact - greatly needed these days !

And.. following up to my previous comment.. did then have another missed call from the same number which DID leave a voicemail saying who it was.. H&R Block, noting that I hadn't completed a return etc..
So.. legit.. and am happy..

Likely to be legitimate - although not well managed attempt to remind customers about tax returns..

Assume it is H&R Block, reminding existing (and maybe past) customers to get their tax done.
I have been using them for a few years now.
Had email reminders today about getting my tax return done - from the branch I usually use. Completely legit.

And then had missed call shortly after and no message from this number..
Which would make sense if only they actually left a message to say 'this is H&R Block head office in Melbourne, please contact your regular branch etc...'

Caller called my mobile and left voicemail claiming to be from H&R Block. I have been using H&R Block for the last 20 years and this is the first time that i have received such a call. I checked with my local H&R Block office and they advised me that it is likely a scam call as they do not usually call clients to remind them to make appointments.

Call back the local office you dealt with, this is the head office number and they don't know anything. Your local office might even be surprised, like mine was, that they called as my return was not ready to finalise.

I answered and could hear someone slowly typing but they never spoke. So I said hello a few times and then I hung up.

I got a call to make an appt for my tax and my husband actually got a voicemail. We deal with our local HR block and she said they don’t make these calls and they don’t chase people to make appts for their tax. Scam

Legitimate call. No message left - surprising in this day & age...would have thought a proper business would leave a message inquiring as to whether I needed my tax done this year, considering I have used them in recent years.
