Caller: No idea They call very briefly almost before you can answer. Very wary now if not in contacts list. If it is urgent, genuine callers will call again. Otherwise, as others have noted, it is a scam or marketing. Calling around dinner time is another give away.

How is it any bloody different! As far as I’m concerned their still nuisance calls wasting our time to do surveys helping out companies free of charge.. I find surveys almost as annoying as any other spam call..

Caller: Market Reasearch This is a genuine number calling on behalf of various companies for market research. I know this because my company uses them. I wish so many reporters would not jump to marking calls as a scam when it was just an unsolicited caller if they don't want to complete the survey.

And yet I am on the DO NOT CALL REGISTER ... so the company you choose to use DOESNT follow legal guidelines , perhaps you would be so kind to identify them so we can report them ?

Continually call numbers that are active on the Do Not Call register. So, if they're doing that, why would you trust them or provide them with any information?

Caller: Said they were from a research calls centre from a council I live in over 4 years ago. Just annoying. So best just to block them. Said they were doing market research for my local council but I hadn't lived in that council areasm for almost 4 years so they hung up. Best just to block and ignore. They did know my correct name. Block listed. Done.

Caller: Robert (claims to be from ACMA) Robert, who claims to work for the 'telecommunications department'(or some such) of ACMA*, rang asking how many nuisance calls I get on average. Told me they have a new system that will 'stop all telemarketing calls' and 'wouldn't cost me a penny'. Trying to imply that they were working on enhancing the 'do not call' register. Hung up when I asked why, when I'm on that register, they are calling me?? *ACMA are a legit Federal government department - home page https://www.acma.gov.au/ . But calling at 6:45 pm???
