Caller: Person alleging to be from Telstra

Caller said he was from Telstra's technical department and that he was calling because my IP address had "dropped" into the public domain, it was connected to my personal information and I was at risk of it being used for illegal activities. I asked how, if Telstra is not my internet provider, he got my phone number and he said it was listed with "customer service". I asked how that could be if I am not a Telstra customer and he got increasingly irate, accused me of "not listening", said he didn't have to tell me how they got my number and, when I suggested that as a public listed company Telstra would be subject to Australian privacy law, ultimately hung up on me.
