"Telstra Technical Support" just spent 12 minutes chatting to my diversion "Its Lenny" (Google it or search YouTube), I wonder if Lenny helped them much?
In frustration they hung up, then called straight back for a second session with Lenny for another 2 minutes before hanging up and trying for a third time for yet another 3 minutes. Slow learners! Scam the scammer, hehehe....

Indian scammers claiming to be from Telstra and that my Internet had a problem. Thing is, we don't have any Telstra products, we're with Optus. They are also masking phone numbers 03 6784.5787 and 03 4784.5787

Called back and message says this number has been disconnected

I didn't answer the call and looked up the number later. There was nothing on this web site but 'Number Lookup' had it listed as a high scam alert. This is what one reviewer posted:

'I let them play out the story This is the scam where they get control of your computer - then you have to pay to get it back, and /or they steal information while they are there.
This needs a much higher red alert'

I did not pick up but later searched out the number. Nothing was reported on this web site, but another site 'Number Lookup' rates this telephone number as unsafe with a 90% hazard level. Several reports say that callers with foreign accents claim that they are from Telstra and claim that you that you have a problem with your internet. Some receivers of the calls challenged them and they simply hung up. Another scam giveaway is that no one picks up when attempts were made to call them back.

This number calls me every day at least once. I don't answer any calls that I don't recognise. If it's someone who knows me they will leave a message. So, whoever you are - I don't want to buy any tickets, I can't buy solar panels because I'm only renting, If you want to ask me if I can hear you, I will hang up and if my computer has a virus that will destroy the world, guess what? - I don't have a computer. So please leave me alone!!!!!!

they say their calling from Telstra internet help desk

Caller saying that he's from Telstra's technical department and they are going to shut down our internet connection unless I do what he says - he then tells me to go to my computer and etc, etc. He refused to give me a number that I could call and confirm that he really was from Telstra. He was very persistent and told me to cooperate. I didn't.

Took a number of seconds for someone to start talking after I answered so I knew immediately it was coming from overseas. Then an asian female introduced herself and when she got to the magic words "your internet connection" I stopped her, told her I'm not interested in her scam and hung up. Thieves is all they are.
