it is World Vision, but it's just their regular switchboard: not fundraising or spam calls. Calls come to me on this about work I am doing for them. it wouldn't surprise me if child sponsors get calls via here because they have an ongoing relationship with the organisation.

I do sponsor a child and did not know this was World Vision until I found out on this site. I'm happy to sponsor a child but not to take marketing calls. I did not answer the call and they did not leave a message

I just had a call from this number today because I've sent an email regarding something about my sponsor child. I wish they would respond to that and not call me as I've said I prefer email contact and not phone calls, I've had so many telemarketing calls that I now don't answer most numbers I don't identify.

i left this to go to voicemail as i do... i realised it was world vision and called them back as i thought it was the call back i had requested but he seemed not to know about this issue i had called them about so it's just marketing methinks

I have blocked this number. I do this with all repeated hang ups.

I am getting calls (4 missed calls so far as I'm not picking up) from the same number on my mobile and I sponsor a child with World Vision so I guess it is them. I don't like to decide over the phone about changing donations amounts so prefer not to receive calls like this but can appreciate that they are just doing their job as I work for a nonprofit, but I don't do telemarketing.

I sponsored a child through them also but had to stop due to change in financial circumstances. I don't want people chasing me for wine sales, money,solar panels or whatever. It's an invasion of privacy and if I want something I will ask for it!

I emailed World Vision through their website & they confirmed that it is a World Vision phone number.

We keep getting calls from this number and they just hang up at the other end, I don't know why they won't say anything at the other end?

I keep getting missed calls with this number. Whenever I have called it back it is an answering machine with a message from World Vision but the number doesn't match the website phone number?

Yes, this is World Vision, I don't owe them any money (but I do sponsor a child with them) so I don't know about chasing bank account details, but they were just promoting a new, different sponsorship thing called Child Rescue.  They've been trying repeatedly (over several days) on all the contact numbers they have for me.  Once I took the call they've stopped.  Presumably they are doing this with all their customers, trying to get more money from them.

hahahah I guess I am a "selfish fool".
I cancelled my donations to one of the many charities I donate to for the simple reason that I don't think calling me EVERY SINGLE DAY (when I'm obviously not available for whatever reason) is a very good use of the money I donate.
Most charities leave a message or send me information via email regarding the issue.
Seriously, calling me every day when i obviously am not going to answer the phone is just stupid.
There's a lot of other charities out there who have a clue and don't throw money down the drain like this.
I give about $6000 a year to charity and i don't want it wasted on calling me obsessively. It's actually borderline stalking/prank calling. I don't care who you are. If you call me every day and don't leave a message.. you are harassing me.

I sponsored WV children and when I went to visit them in Africa, I found that they were not getting the healthcare that I was paying for. Also things were happening within their family structure (parent died) that I should have been told about, at least to save embarassment on both sides when we exchanged letters. So have a think about exactly where that money is going because sometimes it isn't being directed where it should. My sponsorship ended 2 years ago due to the project ending. WV keep calling me even though I am no longer interested in their charity.
