Had a call from this number and about 3 seconds in a recording of 'goodbye' played and then disconnected.

I didn't even "sign up" and they still sent me a bill!! Been trying since nov for them to cancel it and everytime I call to cancel I get put on hold then hung up on (which is a mute button cos all I hear I dead silence then the line disconnects). When the guy tried to call me in the first place to offer me a free laptop and mobile I said no instantly (my friend stupidly referred me and gave almost ALL my details!!). The guy even asked for my bank account details...AS IF!!!! Anyway I called to Ombudsman yesterday and they have finally cancelled it for me and VIP have sent me an email confirming my cancellation. To top it off a retention officer called me back and offered me another free laptop and I said why would I wanna take up another offer when all this time I've been trying to cancel my original offer in the first place?!! I told him I don't want anything to do with VIP and to never ever call me again or else I'd be referring them to the Ombudsman again. This company are a scam!! They are a fake company from India using Melbourne as their location. When I asked where they gave me the address and coincidentally I work right acrooss from the location they gave me. Then I started grilling them with questions of what building they are in, what level, etc etc they were dumbfounded and couldn't answer me....then I said I know they are all fake and a scam. They all use names like Sydney, Alicia etc etc.... The TIO are trying to bring them down and if u google them they are on the TIO's list of fraudulent companies!! DO NOT ANSWER THEIR CALLS!!!!!!!

Re 22 December 2010 entry regarding (03) 9936 0501 - They still keep ringing and so I told them politely using colourful language not interested.  Friends of ours however signed up - free laptop/tv will be sent after you have paid for your fourth account, lots of paperwork - they have been trying to get out of it and it has fell upon deaf ears - STAY CLEAR PEOPLE.
