caller said he was so and so from telstra and wanted to make sure i was getting the best of my phone plan. I told him to call me back some other time

My phone stores numbers of the last 20 missed calls. 7 of them are from this number. A couple of times I've tried to answer & I haven't been quick enough. It does seem that they are trying to suck you into to calling them back.

It is Telstra sales talking you into some contract.

I am getting about 2 missed calls per day from this numbers and other (03)9834 and also random (02)...numbers. They ring the phone once (so you don't have the opportunity to get the call) and then they hang up, being curious you call it back only for a recored message to say that you missed a call from Telstra to tell you about their new products and promotions.. SCAM!!!!!!!.. PLUS Telstra is getting more money as you call the number back... ITS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!!

If I am near my phone I press the answer button, wait 5 seconds then press the hang up button. Figure I might as well annoy them as much as they annoy other people.I accidentally answered a call from one of these numbers when working from home, thought it was the office calling me. It was someone doing a survey. I told them my consultancy fee is $160 per hour plus GST & I will answer any questions once I have received their payment. They hung up & haven't called back since. My phones are both on the "Do Not Call" register.
