I have had actual calls from this number over the last week. It's a Telstr outbound call centre - "calling to make sure you are getting all the features and benefits you need from your mobile service". I told the guy to call me back some other time (I was in line at the checkout) and got a call back showing the same number.

here is a (very)rough transcript:

"thank you for calling telstra
we called to tell you about products and services you might be interested in...to find out more about this call, please ring 1800 726 594 9am to 5pm mondays to fridays"

This number called me then hung up before i could answer

This is a Telstra scam. You miss the call and then they hope you dial the number and you get thier prerecorded message telling you to ring another number about thier special deals.
