Scam artist. Didn't know how to speak. Could hear Call Centre operation in the background Caller: Telstra
A female caller her voice (background noise as if call centre) had Indian accent alerting me to a problem with my IP address. She then informed me that I will be speaking with a male who was supposed to be a technical expert. I told the expert to be very careful about what you are going to say to me, as I was in IT for 35 years. He hung up the the phone immediately. This number is a scam posing as Telstra.
1.They hung up when I answered.
2.Second time same number asked if I would be interested in an 'Investment Opportunity'!
Caller: 'Telstra Technician'
Initially an Indian woman who then passed me on to her 'supervisor'.
Claimed there was a problem with my IP, asked me to check its status and then asked me to install iperius software. I went along with it, didn't install anything said I'd have to call him back because it's not working at the moment, asked for his return number, he hung up immediately.
Starting again on their aims of trying to scam us with an IP problem .................... makes us mad as hell Caller: "TELSTRA"
Claimed to be from Telstra technical Department. Told them I wasn't falling for that scam and he pleaded ignorance and didn't know why I thought it was a scam. Really??? These people need to be stopped.
Caller: Also 97739103
Always the same blab Optus regrets...they haven't a clue and we have to put up with this crap
Caller: Allegedly from Telstra
I had exactly the same thing this morning. Played him along for a while then when he told me to log on to my PC I asked him if he thought I was stupid and put the phone down.
Caller: John - allegedly from Telstra
Caller: Claiming they were from Telstra in Exhibition St.
Said there was an issue with my Internet going from Private mode to Public mode and was an issue with my service (I am with Optus). They then asked me to login to my PC and wanted give them my IP address, they also claimed to have some code that could verify themselves. I wanted as much of his time as I could, after asking if I was the only one or whether this was a wider Telstra issue. When he said it was - I asked for the name of the Head of Telstra Customer Service so we could request an urgent national media release. I asked him to check his intranet as any Telstra staff member would have access to that data.....I think he knew he’d been made by that point. When I tried returning the call, Optus regrets the number you’ve dialled is disconnected!
Claimed to be Telstra (rang on land line), told them to ring me back on my mobile (which they never did). Caller: They said telstra
The person who called me was a woman with an Indian sounding accent and there was call centre noise in the background.
They said they were calling regarding nbn and then asked if I was a business. When I said no she said she’d rung the wrong number and hung up.
Sounded like they were looking for a business to scam.
They called again yesterday and left a message but all you could here was the call centre noise.
They called again today and I blocked the number. Hopefully that’s the end of that
Called the number back and it wasn't listed. Scam! Caller: Telstra Scam
Asian female caller speaking poor english stated she was from Telstra and there was a problem with our NBN. She asked for the IP address so the problem could be fixed. When asked 'who are you, what is your name?' she hung up.
Phone rang from same scam number. Could hear the call centre in background. She said she was Telstra. Then she asked to speak to the owner of the phone line. I replied "you rang here you should know there name". How rude she hung up. I didnt get to string her along and have fun at it! These guys called me, I said hello, they said hello, i said hello again, then they hung up. Really annoying. Figured as much that it was some indian telemarketer scammer Caller: call centre in bakground
called the other day also saying from Telstra, I asked them to repeat their name 3 times as I was a wich and now putting a curse on them and their family and going to provide them bad luck and karma for all their lives... not sure why but they hung up
Caller: Some stupid called
it is been annoying. In fact we haven't answered as we do not know the number but these people are calling every second day. Telstra should block this number ASAP
Repeated scam calls. You can’t call back. Ignore at ownbu
A female called "Tilo" with Indian accent said she was from Telstra calling me because my internet "become public", "anyone can see it" and was to show me how to set it to default as private. She showed me how to obtain ip address via chrome and asked me for it, which I refused to give. She then asked me to type "iperius remote" (i.e. i know to eventually let her control my PC!) I refused and said I would contact Telstra directly!
Because I didn't want what they were selling, they keep ringing, and breathe heavy, then hang the phone up, sounds like an Indian call centre. Their number should be cancelled by Telstra.
