Actually, that is the reason for the DO NOT CALL register is so that people DO NOT get these types of calls

You may wish to take this to a court and have your throry proved there, you will be found to be in the wrong!

Sweeney Research - a market research company doing surveys on the banking and finance industry. They will send you online surveys via e-mail to constntly annoy you but they are offerring a $70 cheque for your trouble.

Got a missed call from this number, they didn't leave a message. I avoid returning the call in case it's one of those scams.

The calls cannot be returned as they are through a computer generated dialler - it has nothing to do with staff being busy.
The phone numbers that are called come primarily from a randomly selected sample base taken from PUBLICLY available telephone listings. Occasionally, they are provided from an external source (ie: Dunn & Bradstreet).
The computer systems used also include features which restrict the number of calls made to any one number - 14 calls in a night is an impossibility and a gross exaggeration of the truth. The most times any one number can be dialled is 7 before it is sent to a 'trash-bin' and not called again for that particular survey.
The Do Not Call register is valid and all phone numbers are screened against this list - unfortunately there is some 'lag-time' of approximately 3-4 months before any new number is registered on this Do Not Call listing.
Calls are made from 5pm - 8:30pm on weeknights and between 9am - 5pm on weekends - there is no possibility that calls could be made after this as the automatic dialler is shut down at the end of every shift.
