Caller: Unknown

Claimed to be representing Vic Gov. Installing free electricity monitoring device in line with emissions reduction target and to provide jobs lost during the pandemic.
I asked for website to learn more, he gave www.energysaver.com.au, which re-routed to www.hfmassets.com.au. Not a government website: gov websites have ".vic.gov.au".
They had my mobile number, name and an old address and could not say which database they were using.
They asked for new postcode, which I gave, they wanted to call back when they were in the area.
I asked for them to provide the database name from their manager, they gave me "DPL", Data Protection Legislation, not the database name. He said the manager would call back in 10 minutes. That was 40 minutes ago. No call back.

its a company who claims to be providing the free electricity monitoring service from the victorian gov. very pushy and tells me i have an appointment book and when i said no, he said but its free. Cant imagine anyone would just say yes just because its free? and a meter to monitor electricity consumption. Really? wonder who is monitoring who...

Turns out there is a real Vic gov program for this.

The advice I received from the Department of Jobs Precincts and Regions 13 61 86 was ask the caller for their company name and check it on the Vic energy saver website above. Are they a listed/approved supplier?

Received a missed call voicemail, nothing but a cough!! Could be anything.
